In America The early performances of Maureen FitzSimons (who we know as Maureen O'Hara) would definitely be in the child prodigy category. These traits were natural for a child born in Ireland, surrounded by talented parents and a loving, supportive family. Maureen was born in Ranelagh an area in Dublin the capital of Ireland, on 17 August 1920. Marguerita FitzSimons was a talented contralto. Charles FitzSimons managed a Dublin-based company and was the owner of a portion in "The Shamrock Rovers" a renowned Irish soccer team. Maureen FitzSimons is the second daughter of Charles FitzSimons. Peggy FitzSimons, Florrie Fitzsimons Charles B. Fitzsimons Margot Fitzsimons rounded out this wonderful family. Maureen excelled as a sportswoman and was a gruelling athlete in sports when she was a young. Her ability to perform was a perfect complement to her passion for athletics. It was evident when she won every Feis in drama and theatre that Ireland had to offer. At the age of 14, she was accepted by the Abbey Theater accepted her and allowed her to live out her passion for classical theatre and singing opera.
