Maureen Denise McCormick, the only child of Richard McCormick Irene McCormick, was born in Woodland Hills California on 5 August 1956. Her family consisted of an aunt who worked as household worker and father who worked as a teacher. Michael Dennis Kevin is her older brother. She has three siblings. McCormick began singing and dancing in her early years and frequently performed show-like puppets in front of the children from her neighborhood. McCormick won the Baby Miss San Fernando Valley Contest when she was just 6 years old and was then contacted by Pat Domigan, a talent agent from the Jack Wormser Agency. He was interested in her desire to work in the business of show production. McCormick was hired to star in her first big performance in 1964 on an tv commercial featuring Mattels most recent doll, Baby Pattaburp. The commercial was re-run in 1964, for the Mattels Chatty Cathy toy and soon was cast as the lead role in Wind It Up and It breaks, a production in the La Jolla Playhouse. The Brady Bunch McCormick won a 1969 audition from 1,200 youngsters to be the oldest of the three twins on the TV program The Brady Bunch, starring Florence Henderson as a newlywed and Robert Reed. The show ran for five years. McCormick's memoir Heres the Story, Surviving Marcia Brady: Finding My True Voice was published in the year 2008. She revealed in it that McCormick nearly lost her virginity while on sets of the show in its fifth season to Barry Williams. He was 19 years old. She was 16. The woman said it might be possible, however we didn't have the proper time to do it.
